Where Your Leadership Team Diverges โ And What To Do About It
Every leader on your team has a mental model of how product decisions actually get made. They rarely match. This half-day session makes those differences visible โ and turns them into a shared direction.
Misalignment at the top produces friction everywhere below
When leaders hold different assumptions about how the organisation discovers needs, makes bets, and learns from the market โ product teams receive mixed signals. Work gets done. But it rarely coheres.
The gap is rarely visible in meetings. It shows up in what gets prioritised, what gets dropped, and what never gets said.
Individual signal. Collective picture. Shared direction.
Each leader completes the Product Culture Assessment independently โ 14 dimensions, 10 minutes, no preparation needed. The tool generates a personal Culture Map based on how things actually work today, not how they’re intended to work.
In the half-day session, McKay Consulting facilitates a structured read of the combined results: where the leadership team aligns, where it diverges, and what the divergence is costing you. The session closes with a shared articulation of the desired culture state.
Each leader completes the assessment
Independently, before the session. 10 minutes. Responses are anonymous within the tool. Each leader receives their own Culture Map and report number.
Results are aggregated into a team dashboard
Using a shared session code, all individual maps are combined into a single heatmap showing where the team aligns and where perception gaps are sharpest โ across all 14 dimensions.
Half-day facilitated workshop
McKay Consulting leads the team through the combined results. The most divergent dimensions become the workshop agenda. The session ends with a co-created picture of the culture the team is aiming to build.
The divergences that matter most
Where leaders hold fundamentally different views on how customer understanding is built
Where decisions are perceived as evidence-based by some and gut-driven by others
Where experimentation is seen as core practice vs. occasional exception
Where product thinking is seen as coherent across teams โ or siloed by function
What archetype each leader maps to โ and how the mix shapes team dynamics
The gap between the culture the team has today and the one it needs to succeed
