You have already used AI.
Do you know what it was?

Most people have asked ChatGPT something. Far fewer could say what kind of AI answered them, who carries it when it is wrong, or how to tell a real answer from a confident one. That is not a gap in intelligence. Nobody explained it.

Sixteen everyday situations — holidays, photographs, a message you did not want to write, a symptom you looked up at midnight. You answer, you find out straight away whether you were right and why, and you see which products you have already met it in.

AI today is really four different things. They get talked about as one technology. They differ in what they actually do, how much of the work leaves your hands, and who is answerable for the result.

It actsAgent Given a goal, it works through the steps by itself. Something changes in the world.
It leadsOrchestrator Runs several agents at once and pulls their work together.
